While sitting in an auto repair shop recently I overheard some mechanics talking about what an awful day they were having, and it centered on a compressor malfunction. Apparently this malfunction caused several cars to be stuck on top of their lifts.

A moment or two later one of the mechanics gets on a call with a customer and begins to explain the situation. The following is a slightly embellished but humorous take on what followed…

“Yes ma’am I was calling to give you an update on your vehicle. No ma’am, we’re still working on it. Unfortunately your vehicle is all jacked up! Yeah, it’s pretty bad. We’re waiting for the parts to arrive but for now everything’s still up in the air and we’re not sure how long it might take. Rest assured we’re trying to get you out of here as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!”

I can only imagine the thoughts that must have ran through that poor woman’s head, hearing her car was all jacked up and wondering how much this repair would cost, not realizing they meant it literally 🤣

  1. That is so funny! I recently met someone who is in the business of fixing and maintaining things like lifts in mechanic’s garages. Until then, I’d never considered what could happen if they malfunctioned. Apparently it happens, as you witnessed! Haha! Humorous post. Thank you for sharing.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed it 😄 My husband has a keen sense of humor and he’s the one who came up with “your car’s all jacked up” 😳🤣 The actual conversation (although similar) wasn’t quite that funny 😆
