I hear voices in my head.

In fact, I’m not alone. All of us hear voices in our head, all the time.  I hear the voice of my spouse. I can still hear the voice of my mother, long passed.  I hear commercial jingles and songs. I hear teachers, preachers, doctors, bosses and peers.  There is the voice that whispers what others must be thinking… and there are voices of encouragement, motivation, perfection, striving. There are the voices of fear, doubt, reason, temptation – not to mention the lies that come straight from the enemy.

Information flows into us through all of our physical senses – what we see, hear, smell, feel, taste. These also comes with a unique voice.  So how do we distinguish them all?

Somewhere deep within, buried under all the other voices and chaos swimming around, is the still, small Voice of Truth – the voice of God Himself (and yes, one grounded in scripture).

A double-minded person is unstable in all his ways.  What does it look like to be single-minded?  Is it to be undistracted, or to trust even in uncertainty?  To block out the noise and media?

To be single-minded is to hear and obey a single voice above the noise of all the others.

It is a fallacy to believe God no longer speaks to us today outside of what has already been written. It is a lie of the enemy.  Think about it. If He no longer speaks then we no longer believe we have to listen.  If we’re not listening then we’re not tuning in and shutting out all the other voices. Isn’t that just like the enemy, to stir doubt that we could ever hear the voice of God who lives within us so that we won’t bother to listen to what HE is saying? So that we will be double-minded?

Hearing voices in our heads is normal. Which voice we listen to determines our level of madness… or our level of sanity.

Bring out the people who are blind, even though they have eyes,
And the deaf, even though they have ears.
Isaiah 43:8

Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and sup (fellowship) with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
John 10:27-28

  2. Hearing voices is fine; even asking yourself questions and giving answers is okay. But when you say, “Huh, what’d you say?,” GET HELP‼️😂
