For anyone who has ever (or even who has had a friend who has ever) considered oneself as TRANS, recognize two very incredible things about yourself (or that person). Believe it or not, the first one is that you/they recognize your BEING is so much more than just your physical body, right?! You are also a soul! Give that some thought because it puts you way ahead of those who have a hard time grasping that reality – that our bodies are mere clothing for our soul.

Want to know something else incredible about you? The second thing is that, with the understanding that you have a soul that goes deeper than your physical body, you also recognize that your soul is crying out for transformation simply by the fact that you perceive you need to change. BOOYAH! So many people deny that they need to change and be transformed, ya know?

But who is telling you that if you are a girl, you must become a boy – or vise-versa – if you are a boy, you must become a girl? Where does that voice come from? It’s confusing, right?!! Maybe in this confusion you have decided all together that it’s better to be genderfluid. After all, why be limited to only two choices?

Maybe the better questions are to ask yourself what do you want to be transformed into? Why do you wish to be transformed? If you ask yourself what is driving the need to be transformed and are honest with yourself about the answers, then perhaps you can begin to understand the root or the heart of it all, so that you can better navigate the choices being thrown in front of you.

Consider with me what it means to be transformed. I think this is where confusion can come in, because if we don’t know what transformation really means then we can easily believe that to conform means to transform, but does it?

What exactly is the difference between CONFORM and TRANSFORM?

Conform” comes from the Greek word morph or morpha, and it means to “shape into” or take the substance that is and shape it or mold it into some other form (such as from a boy to a girl), but the substance remains the same. No matter what you do to your physical body, you are still you. Think SOUL.

What if changing from one gender to another only brings conformity and a whole pack of lies that tells us we will finally be accepted by not only ourselves but also by others if we do this. Is conformity what it’s really all about, or is there something else that’s needed to bring the transformation that you truly hunger for and desire?

May I invite you to TRANscend to another, higher, perspective – one that does not require you to conform in order to become accepted just as you are? One that does not rely on YOU to make the transformation?

Transform” is different. It comes from the Greek words meta morph from which we get the English word “metamorphosis”. It means to be “changed over”. Not only is the form new, the substance is new also. Metamorphosis produces a new substance, a new thing, or a new being. Think BUTTERFLY!

Here is a scientific fact that no one really likes to take into consideration: What teachers, peers, or doctors aren’t often telling you is that physical trans-gendering from one sex into another is not, nor scientifically ever will be, possible. Why? Because it only changes the form, not the substance, and that means at best it is conformity, not transformation. Conformity will only take you so far, and we see so many nowadays coming forward to share their stories about this process leaving them more confused, damaged, hurt, and feeling hopeless than they ever were in the first place.

The reason why science continues to only recognize and be limited by two biological genders – male and female, is because even with all the DNA discoveries, doctors have not yet been able to figure out how to change the chromosomal patterns of xy into xx (or vise-versa), which is what is required for true transformation. And if trans is truly possible on the physical level, they would be desperately trying to figure out how to profit from physically changing a human into another species altogether. But no one is.

This is why, if you believe that your soul was born into the wrong body, changing your body will never address the issue because the root of the issue lies within your soul.

Regardless if you recognize yourself as a soul with a need to transform, or if you consider yourself Trans or not, I know from personal experience that GOD is the only one who is able to fully transform a soul into a new creation because He has transformed me. He is the one who created you and me in the first place, and is the only one who can bring your spirit back to life as He has mine, and set you on a path from darkness to light, from speculation and confusion to truth. And trust me when I say, it feels so good!

Without God, every single one of us becomes trapped by delusional escapism. We allow ourselves to be deceived by the great deceiver who hates who we are and finds it easier to destroy our core being when we don’t recognize who we are. Sowing seeds of discontent is a strategy he uses, replacing “20/20 vision” with blinders that continually play their own movie of what reality needs to be. But it’s not.

What kind of transformation is God offering?

There is big secret that is so often overlooked: God does not make mistakes. He created you with a plan and a purpose. The transformation He offers does not require you to go bodily from one gender to another. As a matter of fact it doesn’t require behavior modification at all because He goes right to the root of the problem, which is not wrong-doing, but wrong being. We were created in His image, and that image within us has been marred. He is the only one who was able to restore that image for me, and He is able to restore that image for you, too. Should you choose to allow it, you will need the body He has given you to fulfill the destiny He is calling you to, the one your transformed soul was created for!

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand — when I awake, I am still with you. - Psalms 139:13-18

  1. This is such a bold and compassionate invitation to look deeper. I appreciate that this is anchored on Psalms 139. Such a beautiful reminder that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” speaks identity over so much confusion.
