Does God Exist?

A few years ago, I posted a blog titled What is Truth? This question came up again recently in a program I was watching that focused on Pilot and his role in the crucifixion of Jesus, this being the famous question he asked Jesus at the time.

Scholars who were interviewed attempted to explain that Pilot’s version of truth included all things factual, those things based on physical matter: what his eyes could see, what his personal senses affirmed. Truth outside of this did not seem to concern Pilot.

My thoughts compared this with an ant who fails to take into account the impact of a human because all he sees is his own little ant world. Like Pilot, the ant doesn’t realize that the only place his truth matters is in the world immediately surrounding him. But there is a much larger truth he has yet to consider.

As these thoughts ran around in my head, I compared them against another question I hear people frequently ask: “Does God really exist”? Imagine the ant asking if humans really exist. Kind of silly, isn’t it? Of course, humans exist! From the ant’s perspective he may not acknowledge the existence of humans but that doesn’t mean that humans are not there. The fact often dismissed, denied, or overlooked is, God DOES exist.

For anyone who cares to examine and question, overwhelming evidence all around us affirms the existence of God brighter than a thousand neon signs in the desert. Those who dare to move beyond what they are told and seek to know a truth bigger than they are might just begin to see reality.
